The washing machines have instructions written in Japanese, the wall sockets require extreme patience to finally get the plug in at the right angle, the best phone-plan is the one that requires you to keep several phones and phone cards with you at all time… Your monochrome phone doesn’t have a killer-app that will keep track of your girlfriend or wife’s menstrual cycles? A built-in torchlight is a much more useful tool. What about 3D cinema? Get two TVs and cross your eyes. Can’t access your favourite social-networking tool on the go? Step out in the street, open your eyes, talk to people, sign up for free! But technology in Cambodia might be more user friendly than it seems: there are rumours from the West saying they now make high-tech (expensive) phones that won’t even let you speak to each other…(Tip: for the washing machine, the big green button on the right usually does the trick.)
