Kite Season

There is a gentle wind blowing on the city these days... Which means the kite season is open! The tradition of kite flying is very ancient in Cambodia, and there is a lot to say about it. Here is a precious resource where you can learn about the 30 types of Khmer kites and their history, the Royal Kite Flying Ceremony, the Khmer belief in kite flying and much more... You may also offer yourself a walk around the Olympic Stadium to watch children play, or fly your own!

We could not talk seriously about Khmer kites without mentioning the Kite Museum of Phnom Penh which is certainly worth a visit - and which is the chosen spot for tonight's (August 7) Elsewhere First Friday Party!
