Hold me tender, hold me kite

Kite season is coming - that's "THE" opportunity to fly your very own kite at the riverside or on the roof top of your house. Ladypenh wants to show you how to make it!

What you need: A4 paper; a pair of scissors; glue; and two light smoothed strips of bamboo or two leafstalks of coconut leaves. First, cut your paper into a square, the rest to be glued together to make the tail. Glue one tip of the bamboo stick to one corner of the paper, bend it into an arch (so the kite can fly high) and glue the other tip to the opposite corner of the paper. Then, affix the other bamboo strip perpendicularly at midpoint of the first arched stick. There: you have the frame structure of the kite. Finally attach the tails and personalize your kite with colors or designs. Attach a string to the joint of the affixed strips and you’re ready to go – with the wind of December, your kite will fly high in the blue sky of Phnom Penh.
