Practical Guide to O’Russeï Market

I saw a (insert pretty much anything here) last time I went to O’Russeï, and I’m going back to get it” I hear you say. Ha! Well the wonderful (frustrating?) thing about O’Russei is that it’s three dimensional, organic and the laws of physics and consumerism do not apply there. The magnetic North will point east on a Wednesday, south if its raining, you think you saw shoes next to the meat section on the first floor when in fact it was next to the hairdressers on 2 ½ floor, and even if you have a GPS, it’ll probably tell you that you’re in Hungary.

Welcome to O’Russeï, one of the biggest, most confusing and chaotic markets in the Penh. However, you can find pretty much anything you want there, the trick is to buy it when you see it, or even easier, not to go there to buy anything at all but to wander around and appreciate the sights, smells and sounds of a million different shops selling a million different things. (Tip: do not ask your motodop/tuk-tuk driver to wait for you, as you might spend ages trying to find the same entrance again!)
